Ace Frehley joins Eric in conversation. We talk about his early days with musical siblings, how his 1978 solo album set the stage for his eventual KISS departure. We talk specifically about Fractured Mirror, Alive II side four, Escape From The Island and early memories of Eric Carr, his sobriety, his extensive archive of unreleased KISS material from the 70s and 80s. And, of course we talk about his new covers album Origins Volume I and what’s next, Origins Volume II? (hint: yes with Deep Purple’s Space Truckin’)
Hot take: Music from the Elder is a great album, if you can make yourself stop wishing it was a “cooler” hard rock record. Judge it for what it is, not what it could have been.

Music From The Elder COULD HAVE BEEN a great album, but isn’t. Remix it without Paul’s lame and really annoying falsetto nonsense, edit back in the Ace parts Ezrin cut, and then strip away the MAJORITY of Ezrin’s production and take it down to a raw punchy rock sound (which KISS’ appearance on the TV show Friday’s did) and THEN, it would be a great album.
One that still sold for crap of course, but a great rock album
