Six-Pack of King’s X, Volume One
On this Six-Pack episode, Ken “The Podfather” Mills of the Pop! Podcast and Richie Wagner of the Audiobiography podcast join Eric Miller of Pods & Sods to further enlighten him on King’s X. King’s X is a band’s band and a fan favorite. Ken and Richie are both bringing three picks covering the band’s first three albums. We get into the lyrical significance, the spirituality, the lessons that can be learned, their groundbreaking, genre-bending musicality, and so much more.
So sit back and discover or rediscover the brilliance of King’s X.
What an enjoyable episode! Great song choices. Already looking forward to Volume 2 (you promised!) (pretty much ;).
I would love to hear more of what Sam Taylor brought to the amazing run of early King’s X albums. His own music (what little I know of it) is very eclectic and complex — it’s hard to believe that didn’t make any impact on this band (especially since his other productions at this time share something of this quality). Dogman moves things on, of course, but …
Sam Taylor remains an enigmatic talent. If the production side of King’s X early output could get some attention in Volume 2, that would be great.
(It’s a wee shame you found it necessary to indulge a bit of gratuitious Christianity bashing. Neede?)
